Get your 30-day sales action plan
You already know plenty of things you could be doing to make more sales. The useful question is: which of them actually deserves your attention right now?
Answer a few questions about the business you’ve actually got, what you’ve been doing to sell and what tends to happen when it’s time to actually sell something.
I’ll turn it into your 30-day plan: what to concentrate on, the few sales actions you’re going to repeat, what you can leave alone for now and what to do first.
Email your list. Follow up with the person who said “let me think about it”. Go back to a previous client. Ask for a referral. Start some new conversations. Post more. Be more visible. Actually tell people what you’re selling.
Which is partly the bloody problem.
So you can spend an entire morning deciding which one to do and somehow not do any of them.
So you create some content. Tweak the offer. Make a plan. Decide you probably need more leads.
Or you do pick something.
You send the email. Nothing happens.
You follow up once. No reply.
Client work gets busy and suddenly it’s Thursday and the sales thing you were definitely doing this week has quietly disappeared.
And the thing that said “follow up with Sarah” on your to-do list is now apparently a 45-minute job.
So you stop. Switch tactics. Or decide you’ll get back to it next week.
Not 30 sales ideas. Not a list of everything you could be doing. A working plan that tells you what you’re doing for the next 30 days — and gets the rest out of the way.
Six pieces. One plan. Built from your answers.
Your reps mapped across the next 30 days, starting where you are and building from there.
The bit of selling you’re concentrating on for the next 30 days.
A few specific sales actions you’re going to do more than once.
What matters. And what you can leave the fuck alone for 30 days.
The rule to come back to when you start talking yourself out of the plan.
Track what you actually did and what happened. Then start with something you can do straight away.
Maybe you genuinely need more people. Or maybe you’ve got previous clients, warm conversations and an audience sitting there while most of your energy is going into finding new leads. Those businesses should not get the same plan.
The clients and opportunities you already have, and your audience.
Where your sales energy has really been going recently — not where you meant it to go.
What tends to happen when selling gets uncomfortable or inconvenient.
How much time you can genuinely give this — not the time you wish you had.
And no, the answer isn’t automatically “work your warm audience.” Sometimes you’ve got five warm conversations and 30 previous clients sitting there while you’re trying to find more leads. Sometimes you genuinely need to get in front of more people. The point is to give you the plan that makes sense for the business you’ve actually got. Not the one I fancied giving everybody.
Your plan lives on its own page, so you can come back, tick off what you’ve actually done and see what happened.
You’ll know what you’re focusing on for the next 30 days
You’ll know what you’re deliberately not focusing on
And you’ll have something to do straight away
I know what I’m doing. I know what I’m leaving alone. I’ve done the first one.
